Light-engineered magnetic excitation paper published at Commun. Phys.

Our theoretical paper on light-engineered magnetic excitations has been published in Communications Physics! In this work, we demonstrate the distinct nonequilibrium dynamics of magnons and paramagnons driven by ultrafast laser pulses, and propose a mechanism for stabilizing Floquet magnetic excitations in correlated quantum materials. We also systematically generalize the theory of time-resolved resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (trRIXS) to describe polarization-controlled magnetic excitations, providing a framework for probing and manipulating transient magnetic states with ultrafast x-ray spectroscopies.
